Dog Obedience Training by K9 Fun Works

Dina offers both private & group obedience training through her K9 Fun Works company, in addition to quality built obedience & agility practice equipment.

Group Training:

Group classes are offered periodically throughout the year at several levels. Small class size offers individualized attention. Most classes are held at Great Dane Rescue of El Paso's shelter located at 3910 Square Dance, with the occasional class offered at public parks on El Paso's east side. A 50% discount is given for dogs adopted from Great Dane rescue of El Paso for the first obedience class with K9 Fun Works(either basic manners or puppy, depending on age). BEGINNING LEVEL CLASSES

Good Manners/AKC Star Puppy (Dogs & puppies 10 weeks and older) Dogs & handlers will learn sit, down, stand, stay, watch, come, leash manners, and leave it. Problem solving is included. 6 weeks / $99.00
(Puppies under 1year are eligible to participate in the AKC Star Puppy program for an additional 10.00. Puppies do not need to be purebred to participate. )

Beginning Obedience & CGC (for dogs who have completed good manners):

Dogs & handlers will learn formal heeling, stand for exam, drop, group stays, sit for petting & say hello, & recalls with fronts & finishes. A CGC test is included and will be given upon conclusion of the course. 109.00

Beginning Obedience Pricing

Introduction to Nose Work:

Handlers will learn how to encourage & develop their dog's natural ability to use their nose using food and toys! This is a fun class, great for building confidence and strengthening the bond between you & your dog. The foundation class for the hottest new urban dog sport- K9 Nose Work! 6 weeks/79.00

***NEW***Manners Unleashed ***NEW*** (For dogs who have completed Beginning Obedience/CGC)

An 8 week class which focuses on helping handlers get control of their dogs off the leash and build a better working relationship with their canine partner. 8wks/120.00

Rally Novice (for dogs who have completed good manners or equivalent): Dogs & handlers will learn all rally novice exercises, practice running courses, and learn rules & regulations for AKC Rally novice. A FUN class!

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL CLASSES

Intermediate Obedience (for dogs who have completed beginning obedience):

Dogs & handlers will continue to work on skills learned in beginning obedience, begin working off lead, and will also learn dumbbell hold & carry, beginning jumping, & beginning targeting. 79.00

Advanced Obedience (for dogs who have completed Intermediate):

Dogs & handlers will continue to work on skills learned in intermediate and learn how to start teaching the formal retrieve, moving stand, signals, "go outs" & directed jumping. 79.00

***NEW*** Introduction to Odor (for dogs who have completed introduction to Nose Work) :

This class will build on scent discrimination skills taught in the Into to Nose Work class and introduce dogs to the first target odor, a natural essential oil. 6 weeks/79.00

COMPETITION LEVEL CLASSES

Open 1 (for dogs who have completed advanced and learned a correction for not retrieving) Includes all formal open exercises

Utility 1 (for dogs who have completed Open 1 & 2:

A 3 section course, with each section lasting 6 weeks.
Section A: Signals, Moving Stand, and heeling with attention. 79.00

Utility 2 (for dogs who have completed utility 1):

Includes the proofing of the utility exercises

Rally Drop in:
A drop in class for those wanting to work on rally exercises and run through fun courses. A mix n match course will be set up each week to accomadate all levels. 15.00 per session or 75.00 for a 6 session card.

Friday evenings at 7:30pm through October 29th, 2010

Attention Heeling:
A weekly drop in class for those wanting to work specifically on heeling with attention and on proofing novice exercises.
12.00/session< or 60.00 for a 6 session card

Sunday mornings at 9am through the end of September, then class time will be adjusted based on weather.

Private (In Home) Training:

Private lessons are priced at 50.00 per hour, and are structured based on the unique needs of you & your dog. You may choose private lessons if...

your schedule does not allow you to participate in group lessons

you have a dog who cannot be accepted into a group class due to severe problem behaviors

you want primarily to work on problems with your dog in your home and are not interested in attending a group class

you simply want the convenience of the obedience trainer coming to you.

A training plan is developed during the initial consultation, during which we can decide together how many sessions you will need based on your goals. Discounts are offered when you choose to purchase lesson packages rather than pay for sessions individually.

Private Lesson Packages are priced as follows:

4 Lessons (problem solving): Initial consultation (up to 1&1/2 hours)and three (1 hour) follow up sessions. 179.00

6 Lessons: Initial consultation (up to 1&1/2 hours)and five (1 hour) follow up sessions. 249.00

10 Lessons: Initial consultation (up to 1&1/2 hours)and 9 (1 hour) follow up sessions. 379.00

*Has completed AKC UDX (utility dog excellent) titles on two great danes, and a UD (utility dog) title on a third great dane. Dina owns one of the only two great danes in the nation to be invited to the AKC National Obedience Invitational in 2009, based on accumulated OTCH (obedience trial championship) Points.
