A Therapy Dog is a volunteer dog who loves to visit with strangers. Therapy Dogs volunteer at nursing homes, hospitals, schools and libraries, and other facilities.
A Service Dog is not a Therapy Dog. A Service Dog is a working dog who provides important assistance to a person with a disability - either by performing tasks, providing emotional support, or both.
Training for AKC Obedience and Rally is a fun way to spend time with your dog. Mixed breeds are now eligible to be entered in these events. For more info visit AKC.org. The first step in getting your dog ready for competition is taking the Good Manners and Good Manners II classes, and earning the AKC CGC certificate. Then, ask Dina about competition classes!
